Research Activities

My research addresses the human skin microbiome and its relationship with Atopic Dermatitis, making use of metagenetics, hi-end metagenomics and bioinformatics tools to unveil microbiome shifts in structure and function as a response to this condition.
This research results from a collaborative effort between the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB) at Instituto Superior T├ęcnico (University of Lisbon), the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon), Santa Maria Hospital and pharmaceutical industry.
