Design and operation of Bioreactors; applied Biocatalysis, including biotransformations in organic media; process integration; xenobiotic degradation; bioremediation; upgrade of industrial (waste glycerol) and agro- by-products (namely xylose) by fermentation; production of polyhydroxyalkanoates homo- and co-polymers (PHAs) by bacterial cultivation; extraction and recovery of intracellular lipophilic products; marine algae biorefineries.
