Research Activities
The main focus of my research work is to develop in vitro cartilage
models that can be used for testing novel candidate drugs for the
treatment of Osteoarthritis (OA). For that, bioengineering approaches
will be applied for standardized differentiation of human induced
pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) into articular chondrocytes.
Personalized models of OA will be generated and are expected to provide
new insights on the complex pathophysiology of the disease and to allow
the discovery and testing of new drugs.
