Research Activities
My research addresses the human skin microbiome and its relationship
with Atopic Dermatitis, making use of metagenetics, hi-end metagenomics
and bioinformatics tools to unveil microbiome shifts in structure and
function as a response to this condition.
This research results from a collaborative effort between the Institute
for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB) at Instituto Superior Técnico
(University of Lisbon), the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM,
Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon), Santa Maria Hospital
and pharmaceutical industry.
